'Just make sure that you surround yourself with people that you see in the future, that were in your past and are still making an effort to be in your present.'

Make sure those who surround you make as much effort to be around you as you do to be around them, because it has to work both ways, in order to surround yourself with those who are best for you. If they have been the one who has been there for you as much as you have for them, and continue to, then it is more than likely they will be the ones to surround you in the future. Keep in mind that those who are there for you and have the best influence should be the ones you see in your future. But always remember that in order for them to stay around, you have to respect and support them as much as they do for you.
